Komodo, or more so-called Komodo dragons (Varanus komodoensis [1]), is the world's largest lizard species that live on the island of Komodo, Rinca, Flores, Gili Motang, and Gili Dasami in Nusa Tenggara. [2] is the native Komodo Komodo island is also known by the name of the local ora. [3]

This large lizard is now protected under Indonesian law and a national park, the Komodo National Park, established to protect them.
